AHS Membership Is Open To Everyone

Membership of The Australasian Hydrographic Society is open to any individual or organisation with an interest in the science (and art) of hydrography, hydrographic exploration and its heritage. This includes surveying in the saltwater and freshwater environments, the adjacent shore and hinterland. This includes inland systems. No formal qualifications are required.

Applications are welcome from (but not limited to) hydrographic surveyors, geophysicists, oceanographers, civil engineers, or students of these disciplines as well as organisations with relevant interests. Notably, those with simply an interest in the history (or future technology) of marine exploration are most welcome

Applications are particularly welcome from organisations involved in contract survey companies, port authorities, government, military and public service authorities, petroleum companies research and educational institutions, professional bodies and other learned societies, engineering consultants, post and telecommunications organisations, acoustic and electromagnetic equipment manufacturers, oceanographic and survey instrument manufacturers, dredging and salvage contractors and surveyors in all sectors of private practice as well as organisations with relevant interests.
